Awesome Prescription, 2002 sorrel gelding, is well broke, sound, and friendly.  He has plenty of go and is eager to please.  He has great ground manners, very cowy, fantastic stop, and walks out great.  He is quick.  Easy to catch, stands for farrier.  Has had 50 days working in the feedlot.  Fast enough to be competitive in any discipline.  Red is always ready to go on a ride or to work.  He never wears out and seems to enjoy whatever we do.  His stamina, even in the hot Missouri weather is amazing.  He has been riding the trails and roads and ranch sorting.

Awesome Dry Doc is a 2005 rose gray gelding.  He  stands 14.2 and weighs 1000 pounds.  His grand parents, Peppys Dry Award, Doc Grey Lady, and Cougarand, are money earners and point producers in cutting and reining.  He has done well with hobbles and learns easily.  Quick and smart.  He has a deep chest and is thick boned.  He has become an 'in your pocket' horse.  Moves very smooth and has a nice canter.

Docs Cowboy Small, "Cowboy," is a 2005 champagne gelding.  He looks more like his sire than any other Awesome offspring to date.  Cowboy has worked several months in the feedlots and these photos were taken in June 2009.  He has shed out nicely and has an excellent disposition.  He will be riding in sorting competitions and going down the trails.  He stands 14.2 and weighs 1000 pounds.  Thick strong gelding in a compact package.  Friendly and responsive.  The confirmation on this gelding is outstanding and he is heavily muscled, still growing.

Lucky Buck Olena and his owner, Wayne, rode the AQHA Ride Across America 2009.  They rode many miles together and Wayne reports that he had the best horse on the ride.

We use the geldings to gather cattle and horses, work calves, check fence and the cowgirls ride just for fun.  There are long horns, jersey cows, calves, a llama, a goat, a blue heeler and the usual Missouri wildlife around the ranch.  We believe it is beneficial to expose the horses to as much as possible.  We trail ride at Honey Creek and other conservation areas, and on crop ground, pastures and roads close to home.  Most of our riding geldings are are taken to a feedlot in Nebraska as 3 year olds.  The training, exposure and work ethic they come home with has been very valuable in their maturation process to becoming finished horses.  We compete on the geldings in ranch sorting events.  We ride the geldings consistently.  We generally have 2 and 3+ year old geldings and studs available in various stages of being started with ground work and under saddle.

We worm our horses regularly and for geldings going to sortings or riding in public use areas, we give flu vaccine.  We feed our geldings grain when they are ridden but believe they do best on pasture, hay, and protein tubs when they are not working.  We do not keep our horses inside.

Another of  our goals is to make training enjoyable for the horses and to make every effort for the horses not to have bad experiences.  This does not reflect a lack of discipline, experience or being spoiled.  We avoid putting horses in high pressure situations before they are ready in mind and physical development.  We do not compete on any horse before it is at least 3 years old.

The younger colts and fillys on the pages of our site will grow up to be as good as any of our riding horses on this page.

It is very important to make the best match possible between horse and rider.  Each horse has its own personality and every person is different.  Our goal is to make the best possible match between horse and rider.
